Dress Code Expectations
LPS has chosen a simple uniform for campus days. This will create a healthy learning environment free from distraction and set the stage for on campus learning days.
While on campus, students will be expected to wear the designated school uniform and meet school modesty standards as outlined below:
Students are expected to wear the designated school uniform during school hours, unless otherwise specified for special events or activities.
Uniforms can be purchased through the LPS linked eShop.
We intend the dress code to be a practical help for parents and students aspiring to show respect for themselves, their teachers, and their classmates in their educational journey.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring uniforms fit their child appropriately. Ill-fitting uniforms may hinder the student’s ability to participate comfortably in school activities.
Hats are not permitted during normal school schedules. They may be worn on special occasions if the school has outlined this as appropriate for special dress or school spirit days.
Uniform Tops
Students may choose from the approved selection of t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts and sweatshirts in the designated school colors and school design provided by the designated supplier.
Uniform Bottoms
All student bottoms must be solid in color. Patterns, prints, graphics, rips, tears, and holes are not permitted. Frayed hems are allowed.
Students who choose to wear tight-fitting bottoms, such as leggings or similar athletic-style pants, must wear a shirt that extends to an appropriate length, providing full coverage of the hips and seat.
Shorts, skirts, skorts, and dresses should be modest in length and fit. They must be long enough to provide full coverage while students are sitting, standing, walking, bending, and participating in normal school activities. Garments should not ride up or expose the upper thigh or bottom during movement.
Many skirts and dresses include attached compression or bicycle shorts. These built-in shorts are considered an underlayer and should remain fully covered by the outer garment at all times. The visible hem of the skirt, skort, or dress should extend below the attached shorts, including during normal movement and activity.
Footwear
Students will participate in PE as well as recess. Therefore, closed-toe shoes or sneakers are required. Sandals, flip-flops and high-heeled shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.
Dress Code Compliance
Students are expected to comply with the school uniform policy at all times. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action as outlined in the school’s code of conduct.
If a situation arises where student appearance is a distraction in the classroom. LPS staff reserves the right to discuss this with parents and enforce the outline dress code.
Should parents have a concern with the dress code questions on the appropriateness of outfits, these questions may be directed to the classroom teacher or administrator.
